Aspects & Orbs
ASPECTS AND ORBS
For the Lunar nodes, I use a very large orb for planets conjunct or square the Lunar nodes. Up to 10-12 degrees.
FOR PLANETARY NODES I USE A VERY NARROW ORB.
Though I do suspect that a wider orb can be used (depending on many factors), the study of the nodes is still new, and we need to be quite strict when gathering data. Adding new points to a chart that is already so full of meaning that we might not be able to see the forest for trees, is already problematic. The narrow orb narrows it down to only the strongest influence.
I use a 3 degree orb for conjunctions to planetary nodes, a 2 degree orb for squares and oppositions, and 1 degree for other aspects. While I do think that all aspects to nodes are valid, I concentrate mostly on conjunctions, then on Squares and oppositions, and then I might go on to other aspects.
I recommend experimenting. See what works for you, but hold your horses as well, so you spin off the rail in excitement of new meaning.
